Double Hung Windows

Double Hung Windows are a vertical sliding window, where both the top and bottom sash can move up and down. At any one time you can only have half of the opening ‘open’ for breeze. The fact both sashes can move gives you option of which part of the opening you would ‘open’.

The glass, colour, and lock options are the same as outlined in the sliding window section.

Like Awning Windows, they are suited to narrow/long openings. The fly or security screen sits on the outside and covers the full opening so you can use the top and bottom sash. This makes the screen cost in comparison to a sliding window more expensive.
